Who Are We?

Gideon Ridge Inn was constructed as a personal home beginning 1939 and finished in 1941. The house remained a personal residence until 1982 when it was bought and changed into a small bed and breakfast.

In 1984 the Milner family purchased the establishment and has restored the building and each of the ten guest rooms. In 2000, Cobb and Cindy Milner opened The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge.

“Consider broad stone terraces and sweeping mountain views. Consider quiet garden benches and perennial borders. Consider a library with a massive stone fireplace. More than that, consider innkeepers who actually consider you, whether you’d prefer to be quiet, or enjoy a nice chat. When you choose an inn, there’s really so much to consider, because after all, life is short and time really does fly.”

-Jan Karon, from the first Gideon Ridge brochure in 1994.
