Directions from Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill
Take Interstate 40 west to Greensboro - Winston-Salem.
In Winston Salem, get on 421 North through Wilkesboro and then up the mountain.
When you see the Blue Ridge Parkway, get on it going South. This will take you to Blowing Rock at highway 321 south.
Take 321 south. Go on through the town of Blowing Rock on 321 Bypass as we are on the south end. You will see a large old inn called Green Park Inn on your left, (White with green roof), just beyond this on your right is a large sign for "The Blowing Rock." Turn right (onto Rock Road) like you are going to visit the Rock. Then take the first left onto Gideon Ridge Road, (there is a dead end sign and a 20 speed limit.) We are at the top of the hill.
From Charlotte / Charlotte Airport:
take Interstate 85 South, to Gastonia
Get on Highway 321 north. Hwy 321 takes you through Hickory and then Lenoir and up the mountain to Blowing Rock.
As soon as you see the Welcome sign to Blowing Rock, take the first left on Rock Road this is also the entrance to the attraction "The Blowing Rock". This is just before the Green Park Inn on your right.
After about 100 yards, turn left again on Gideon Ridge Road, there is a dead end sign and a 20 speed limit. Come all the way up the hill past the Gideon Ridge Inn sign to the circular entrance drive.
Directions from Abingdon and Bristol
From Abingdon, take route 58 to Damascus and get on Route 91 to Mountain City.
In Mountain City, take 421 South to Boone. 421 joins with 321. In Boone follow 321 South to Blowing Rock
Go on through the town of Blowing Rock on 321 South and stay on the By-Pass as we are on the south end of town. You will see a large old inn called Green Park Inn on your left, (White with green roof), just beyond this on your right is a large sign for "The Blowing Rock." Turn right like you are going to visit the Rock. Then the only left from Rock Road is Gideon Ridge Road. There is a dead end sign and a 20 speed limit. Turn left and come all the way to the top of the hill. You will see our sign and be at our entrance.
Directions from Atlanta
(good weather)
-take 85 north towards Spartanburg, SC
-take 221 north until it intersects with Blue Ridge Parkway
-take Blue Ridge Parkway north for 15 miles
-get back on 221 north, towards Blowing Rock
-at the light turn right on 321 south. After about 1.5 miles, you will see a large old hotel called Green Park Inn on your left, (White with green roof), just beyond this on your right is a large sign for "The Blowing Rock." Turn right like you are going to visit the Rock. Then the only left from Rock Road is Gideon Ridge Road. There is a dead end sign and a 20 speed limit. Turn left and come all the way to the top of the hill. You will see our sign and be at our entrance.
